Men of War passa-se na Segunda Guerra Mundial, e é o terceiro título de uma franquia cujos primeiro e segundo jogos foram chamados, respectivamente, Heroes of War e Faces of War. O título conta com três campanhas diferentes, uma soviética, uma nazi e uma com os aliados.
Com 19 missões diferentes, o jogo aumenta sua durabilidade pelo multiplayer renovado. Os efeitos sonoros das unidades de jogo foram gravados a partir de equipamentos originais da época do combate, garantindo maior vivacidade à experiência de combate.
